SLF Abrasivi proposes a range of Flap discs of different types and shapes in order to offer a complete choice and solutions for all needs to professionals in the field.
Our discs are nylon or fiber pad discs both standard size or reinforced, at or conical assets, with standard or large flaps, high-density discs. High-quality cotton flap cloth is combined with aluminium oxide, zirconium oxide or silicon carbide in an innovative solution for all operations of grinding, removal and deburring.
All discs are produced in two versions:
- Conical shape: the inner side of the cloth is directly involved in the operation of grinding, with a final results of a balanced usage.
- Flat shape: it is suitable for detailed work when grinding is focused on a limited area and it requires more action.
All discs are produced following the European safety regulations, granting the highest safety level. The safety of the worker and the performance of the products come first.
SLF Abrasivi is a member of FEPA (The Federation of the European Producers of Abrasives), a National Associations and European manufacturers of abrasives. Members of FEPA have developed safety standards to ensure that abrasive products are safe for use, and provide recommendations for the safe use of abrasives.

in the promotion of safety standards in the use of flap discs.

SERIES 01 – LASER DENIM
FIBRE PAD/NYLON PAD
Flap disc manufactured either with nylon or fibre pad. The flaps layout can be on a single layer or on a double layer, on request.
Suitable for low or medium grinding pressure, generally used with low-power angular machines; for D.I.Y. handicraft.

SERIES 02 – LASER STANDARD
FIBRE PAD/NYLON PAD
Flap disc manufactured with either NYLON or FIBRE pad, available both in conical or at shape. The flaps layout can be on a single layer or on a double layer, on request.
Suitable for medium-high grinding pressure and used with medium-power angular machines. Ideal for professional use in industry or handicraft.

SERIES 03 – LASER PREMIUM
FIBRE PAD/NYLON PAD
Flap disc manufactured with either NYLON or FIBRE pad, available both in conical or at shape. The flaps layout can be on a single layer or on a double layer, on request.
Suitable for medium-high grinding pressure and mounted on medium-power angular machines. Ideal for professional use in high-quality industries, on hard metals (inox or hard-alloys).

- SILICON CARBIDE: suitable for iron, plastic, paints, resins and non-ferrous materials.
SERIES 04 – GRAND PRIX COOLING SYSTEM
Double-layer flap disc with FIBRE pad, available both in conical or at shape. Flaps are placed in double layer with two different grinding materials. This technology comes from the research of new materials that allows cold grinding and self-lube grinding using reduced pressure.
Suitable for medium and high pressure grinding applications, generally used by professionals with a 30% output higher than the normal zirconium discs. Reduces dust, sparks, odours, heating, fatigue and allows a healthier working place.

SERIES 05 – RADIAL 2001
Flap disc manufactured with reinforced NYLON pad with high thickness, available only in a at shape. Wide double layer flaps displacement.
Suitable for grinding jobs, thanks to the reinforced pad, high performance is achieved in terms of time/units. This flap disc is for professional use and needs a powerful grinding machines to guarantee a correct output.

SERIES 06 – RADIAL PREMIUM
Flap disc with Reinforced nylon pad with high thickness, available only in a at shape. Wider double layer flaps displacement compared to Series-03.
The quality of this cloth allows a higher performance compared to the Series-05. Suitable for grinding jobs, thanks to the reinforced pad high performance is achieved in terms of time/units.
This flap disc is for professional use and needs a powerful grinding machines to guarantee a correct output.

SERIES 07 – COMBY CERAMIC
Double layer disc manufactured with high thickness reinforced NYLON pad, available only in a flat shape. Flap are combined and placed in double layers consisting in two different grinding textures: Zirconium + Ceramic. This technology comes from the research of new materials that allows fast grinding, using reduced pressure on very-hard materials.
Suitable for medium/high pressure grinding, its use is mainly for professional purposes with an output of 20% higher than normal zirconium discs.
It reduces the operator’s fatigue thanks to the high quality mixture of grinding cloth.
APPLICATIONS:
- CERAMIC (K) + ZIRCONIUM: For use on inox steel, tempered steel, cast iron, alloys and titanium.
SERIES 08 – COMBY COOL
Double layer disc manufactured with high thickness reinforced NYLON pad. Flap are placed in double layers consisting in two di erent grinding textures: Zirconium + Zirconium with Refrigerant.
he Series-08 has the same properties of Series-04 GrandPrix with two added values: the reinforced nylon pad and the use of this new material (refrigerant zirconium). The latter allows cold grinding and self-lube grinding using reduced pressures with a 30% output higher than the normal zirconium discs.
APPLICATIONS:
- ZIRCONIUM + ZIRCONIUM WITH REFRIGERANT: standard use, in particular for inox, tempered steel, cast iron, alloys and titanium.
SERIES 09 – LASER COMBY CERAMIC
FIBRE PAD/NYLON PAD
Double-layer flap disc with FIBRE and NYLON pad. Flaps are placed in double layer with two dfferent grinding materials: Ceramic + Zirconium. This technology comes from the research of new materials that allows cold grinding and self-lube grinding using reduced pressure.
Suitable for medium and high pressure grinding applications, generally used by professionals with a 20% output higher than the normal zirconium discs. Reduced dust, sparks odours, heating, fatigue and allows an healthier work place. The difference with 07-Series is the flap’s length.

SERIES 10 – ALU DISC
Flap disc manufactured on a special aluminium pad in conical shape.
Flaps are radially placed in a single layer for a regular and vibration-free cut.
Suitable for medium and high pressure grinding application, generally used on medium-high power angular machines; thanks to the quality of grinding cloth the flaps gives good removal results on the handcraft and professional use.

SERIES 11 – SLIM DISC
NYLON PAD
Double-layer disc manufactured with high thickness and reinforced nylon pad. Flaps are smaller than normal flap discs: 18x20mm instead 18×25 but there is higher number of flaps. The result is an high concentration of abrasive material that has the prerogative of total consumption during grinding.
Suitable for medium/high pressure grinding on medium-power angular machines. Good removal results during the use, generally for the handcraft and professional use.

SERIES 12 – FLAP LASER “101” SERIES
FIBRE PAD/NYLON PAD
- Fibre pad available in conical shape.
- Nylon pad available in flat shape.
Flaps are placed on a single layers and in large amounts compared to other series. It provides an exceptional performance with excellent quality-price ratio.
The life of this disc is really high and thanks to the single layer it ensures also no-vibration grinding.
Professional use in industry and handcraft.

SERIES 13 – SOFT DISC
SOFT DISC: Size 115 and 125mm (4.5 inch and 5 inch) – Fibre pad or Nylon pad.
Flaps are disposed in a particular angular way getting the flexibility of fibredisc with performances increase of 20% more the traditional discs. Series-13 allows to really save time and money reducing stop to change discs.
Special benefits: cold cut, it doesn’t overheat the worked pieces, prevent clogging of the abrasives cloth. Flaps wear out gradually until total consumption Ideal to work on big or small surfaces at or shaped, it works on corners or shaped edges maintaining a constant finishing.

SERIES 15 – RAPID NYLON PAD
Flap disc produced with normal nylon support or with a special nylon pad with ventilation holes and connector MA14, available with hole 22mm too.
Flaps are disposed in a single or double layout and it allows direct mounting on medium/high power grinding machines without use the classical lock systems.
Discs available on type zirconium and mixed zirconium-ceramic abrasives cloth. Suitable to work on grinding operations, sanding and removal of weld beads on iron, stainless steel, ferrous and non ferrous materials.

SERIES 16 – LASER CUP
Flap discs produced on nylon pad with or without ventilations holes; flaps are disposed perpendicularly on nylon support with an high concentration. This particular shape called “cup” allows operations of grinding and finishing at the same time. Due to the high number of flaps this discs has a really long life and peerless performances.
APPLICAZIONI:

SERIES 17 – LASER HYBRID
Very innovative flap discs produced with the most modern type of abrasive cloth: Hybrid Ceramic Zirconium. Available on tree type of pad as nylon, nylon MA14, or fibre conical. With just one single grit it is possible to get high removal power and good finishing. Vibrations are reduced at minimum thanks to the particular layout (single flaps with larger dimension then traditional flap disks).
This disk ensure fast removal without overheat metals and grinds like grit 40 with the results of grit 60.
APPLICATIONS:
Suitable to use on steel, stainless steel, titanium, aluminium and bronze.
SERIES 20 – LASER POLISH
Flap discs produced with a particular circle glued on the support of fibreglass. It is composed of a closed mesh of nonwoven continuous lament and they are impregnated of abrasive grains evenly distributed.
The LASER POLISH enables mirror polishing of the metal previously treated by the various series of Laser disc. Despite being a ‘ finished product’ retains a light removal capacity by eliminating imperfections and roughness left by the previous Laser – flap discs. The noise level during use is very low and the laser Polish, can not infected the metal parts, and is indicated for the particular workers who are subject to strict controls.
APPLICATIONS:
Especially for working on stainless steel, but also for iron, brass, aluminium, bronze, wood, resins, plastics, marble, glass and on all surfaces where you want to achieve a good finish. Raccomended type S-FINE Soft, but it’s also produced in more density.
SERIES 21 – LASER CLEAN
Flap discs produced with a particular circle glued on the support of fibreglass. It is composed of an open mesh of continuous laments of nylon abrasive granules which are applied uniformly distributed silicon carbide coarse grain.
Practical to use because the LASER CLEAN allows clean removal of materials resistant to at or angled surfaces without clogging due to its open structure. Also in operation for removal of materials particularly sticky the disc can be cleaned using compressed air. The noise level during use is very low and the Laser Clean, no leaves contaminated, then indicated for the particular workers who are subject to strict controls.
APPLICTIONS:
For use on iron, plastic, paint, lacquer, non-ferrous materials, stainless steel, alloy steel, cast iron, stone, wood and salt.
SERIES 22 – LASER SURFACE CONDITIONING
Flap discs produced with a special non-woven material composed by abrasive grains on nylon laments.
Flaps are disposed in a single layout on fibre backing support that allow a constant finishing degree from the beginning till the end of flap discs.
Laser Surface Conditioning generate the required finish in one operation; produce clean, smooth, burr-free surfaces. The finishing’s degree it’s de ned by the choice of grits (coarse, medium and very ne) as we explain in the below table.
Note: LASER SURFACE flap discs are available only in a single flaps and not in mixed type (non woven+ abrasive cloth) because with mixed discs it is not possible to get the right finishing and good removal effects. LASER SURFACE could be mounted on normal angle grinding machines with possibility to change the speed (see recommended speed)

Ideal for satin and finishing works on steel, stainless steel, plastics, paints, lacquers, non-ferrous materials, aluminium, titanium and fibreglass.
SERIES 23 – LASER FELT
From over thirty years’ experience in the production of Flap disc, we would transfer the same technology applied with ber disc to the felt material.
LASER FELT Flap Discs with fiberglass pad are especially created for mirror polishing. It can be used with abrasives pastes on low speed angle grinders.
SERIES 24 – LASER CUT
Cutting and grinding discs, suitable for applications on different types of materials.
They are usually mounted on portable grinders and depending on the thickness are suitable for cutting or grinding.
Our series is geared for the professional use of cutting wheels or grinding discs to be mounted on portable grinders.
